PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce after image phenomenon itself in a plasma display panel.

SOLUTION: A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel and a sustain pulse generation circuit. A first sustain pulse for generating luminescence having two peaks, a second sustain pulse having a fall steeper than that of the first sustain pulse, and a third sustain pulse having rise and fall steeper than those of the first sustain pulse and for generating luminescence having one peak are switched and generated. The second sustain pulse or the third sustain pulse is generated immediately before the third sustain pulse, the first sustain pulse is generated immediately before the second sustain pulse, and a first overlapping period in which the time when the sustain pulse falls and the time when the sustain pulse rises are overlapped with each other between the second sustain pulse and the third sustain pulse and between the third sustain pulse and the third sustain pulse.
