<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip resistor which can prevent the occurrence of failures resulting from residues of trimming debris generated by laser-trimming a resistor, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the chip resistor and the manufacturing method therefor, a resistance value is adjusted by a trimming groove which is formed by laser-trimming a resistor. Prior to the laser trimming, a resin-made protection film is formed on the surface of the resistor, and then the laser trimming is performed. Subsequent to the laser trimming, the protection film is removed. Then, the trimming grove is backfilled on the top surface of the resistor, and an insulation protection film for insulating and covering the resistor is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
