PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming member capable of minimizing or avoiding appearance of ghosting on a print or copy which is electrostatically prepared. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image forming member comprises a base material and a charge generation layer including phthalocyanine pigment, compatible binder and solvent, wherein the charge generation layer has a mean pigment grain separation distance of 28 nm or less after vaporizing the solvent.
