SOLUTION FOR SENSING UNSATURATED GASEOUS HYDROCARBON AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASUREMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and precisely measure unsaturated gaseous hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: A Schiff reagent of 5.0 ml prepared from Fuchsine and phosphoric acid of 1 ml are dissolved in water of 5.0 ml to prepare a sensing solution 101 and housed in a container 102 constituted of a transparent material such as glass which does not react with the sensing solution 101. In a method for measuring unsaturated gaseous hydrocarbon through the use of the sensing solution 101, the absorbance of the sensing solution 101 housed in the container 102 is first measured. Then the sensing solution 101 is brought into a state exposed by bubbling to air to be measured in which a 1 ppm concentration of 1, 3-butadiene is present. After the sensing solution 101 is brought into a state exposed to the air to be measured in this way, the absorbance of the sensing solution 101 housed in the container 102 is measured again.
