PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a labeling apparatus which causes part of a label to project outwardly against an article to paste the label automatically on the article to facilitate pasting work. SOLUTION: The labeling apparatus includes a label holding means 20 composed of a suction plate 21 having a pair of split pieces 21A and 21B that suck and hold a label L supplied from a label supply means 10, and a folding/pasting means 30 which forms a folded portion 1 having one side face 4 and the other side face 5 bordering each other along a top 3 that projects by upwardly folding part of the label L held by the label holding means 20, and pasts outer ends 7 connected to the folded portion 1 via bent portions 6 on an article W. The folding/pasting means 30 has a folding means 31 which moves the split pieces 21A and 21B closer to and away from each other and causes respective opposite end faces of the split pieces 21A and 21B to press the bent portions 6 of the label L to fold part 2 of the label L to form the folded portion 1 when the split pieces 21A and 21B move closer together, and a move control means 40 which controls the move of the folding means 31.
