PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting tool having simple structure capable of automatically connecting a container loaded with a lower container and automatically separating them from each other without requiring dangerous work in a high place and heavy labor. SOLUTION: This container connecting tool is provided with an upper corner metal fitting 30 provided at an upper corner of a lower container 3, a lower corner metal fitting 40 provided at a lower corner of an upper container 3, a container lateral direction connecting tool 50 engaged with the lower corner metal fitting 40 and held and extended to the upper face of the upper corner metal fitting 30, and a container vertical direction connecting tool 20 for connecting the upper corner metal fitting 30 to the lower corner metal fitting 40. The connecting tool 20 connects the upper corner metal fitting 30 with the lower corner metal fitting 40 by superposing the lower part of the upper container 3 on the upper part of the lower container 3. The container lateral direction connecting tool 50 is sandwiched between the upper corner metal fitting 30 and the lower corner metal fitting 40 and between the upper corner metal fitting 30 and the lower corner metal fitting 40 of adjacent stacked containers 3, and by loads of the containers 3 stacked on the container lateral direction connecting tool 50, the adjacent stacked containers 3 are connected with each other.
