PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoch-making workpiece holding device capable of achieving conventionally unattainable action and effect. SOLUTION: This workpiece holding device for holding a ring-like workpiece 1 forming a through-hole 1a on a peripheral wall is provided with a locking body 2 provided with a locking part 2a locked in an inner fringe 1a' of the through hole 1a of the workpiece 1 and a workpiece receiving body 4 abutted on an end part of the workpiece 1. The locking body 2 is arranged in the vicinity of the workpiece 1 to advance, retreat, and move freely in the radial direction of the workpiece 1 by a movable means 12. When the locking body 2 moves and the locking part 2a of the locking body 2 is arranged in the through-hole 1a of the workpiece 1, the workpiece 1 is nipped and held by the locking body 2 and the workpiece receiving body 4.
