<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent the phenomenon such that water infiltrates into an internal combustion engine and achieve suppressing a rise of the engine manufacturing cost and simplification of the maintenance work. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine as an outboard motor is equipped with a first rotating angle sensing means 80 to sense the rotating angle of a crankshaft 66 and a second rotating angle sensing means 90 to sense the rotating angle of a camshaft 64 for exhausting the gas. An engine side ECU 42 is furnished with a reversing determining part 421 to determine whether reversing of the crank shaft 66 exists or not on the basis of the rotating angle given by the first sensing means 80 and by the second rotating angle sensing means 90, and a gearing mechanism operating part 422 to transfer a gearing mechanism for shifting into the neutral condition forcedly when the judging part 421 has judged that the crank shaft 66 is reversing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
