<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel setting technique about a character size of a caption. <P>SOLUTION: This television receiver starts processing (Start) in a step S1, and checks the existence/absence of caption display in a step S2. If the caption display exists (YES), an advance is made to a step S3 to detect sound volume. Next, whether the sound volume is larger than a reference value α is determined in a step S4, when the sound volume is larger (YES), an advance is made to a step S5 to change the character size of the caption in accordance with the sound volume as in Figure 3, and the processing is ended in a step S6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
