<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict rapid suction of gas or large noise when a piston returns to an initial position after applanation of the cornea. <P>SOLUTION: In the non-contact type tonometer, gas in a cylinder is compressed by the piston, and compression gas is blown to the cornea, so that the state of deformation of the corner is detected to measure the intraocular pressure. The tonometer has drive means driven by supply of drive current to move the piston in such a direction as to compress the gas in the cylinder, energization means to energize the piston to return in the opposite direction to the compression direction, control means to supply the drive current to control driving of the drive means, and detection means to detect the drive state of the drive means. The control means temporarily stops the drive current to be supplied to the drive means, and then supplies the drive current to the drive means based on a detection signal from the detection means for decreasing the returning speed of the piston to the initial position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
