<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance device for a vehicle which enhances the convenience of its user. <P>SOLUTION: The route guidance device is mounted on a vehicle, searches a route, and performs guidance of the searched route to its user. When the route guidance device acquires status information representing whether or not an in-vehicle ETC device is in a normally operating state from the in-vehicle ETC unit, the guidance device performs route search taking the existence of ETC dedicated interchanges (e.g. smart interchanges) into consideration, when it is judged from the status information that the in-vehicle ETC unit is in a normally operating state, and performs route search while ignoring the existence of the ETC dedicated interchanges, when it is not judged from the status information that the in-vehicle ETC unit is in the normally operating state. The guidance device acquires the status information from the in-vehicle ETC unit during the route guidance also, continues monitoring, and performs rerouting when the contents of the status information change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
