PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can display errors occurring in a device body without being provided with a special light source. SOLUTION: The sublimation-type printer (image forming device) has a luminescent surface 32a showing operating conditions of the device body, an error display member 40 provided with icons 40b showing errors of the device body at prescribed intervals and permitting the part of the icons 40b to be arranged so as to be superposed on a prescribed position of the luminescent surface 32a, a stepping motor moving the position of an icon showing an error of the display member 40, a control section controlling the stepping motor so as to move the position of an icon 40b of the kind corresponding to an occurring error to the position where the icon is superposed on the prescribed position of the luminescent surface 32a.
