PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ground-following performance of a first conveyer device in an onion harvester, equipped with the first conveyer device for picking up onions from a field G, and a second conveyer device for receiving the onions from the first conveyer device and conveying the onions to a traveling machine body. SOLUTION: The first conveyor device 7 is linked to the lower end part of the second conveyor device 8 in a relatively turnable fashion. The first conveyor device 7 keeps the grounding state of a gauge wheel 17, by changing the relative posture to the second conveyor device 8. A grounding roller 73 and sensors 79 and 80, for detecting the height of the second conveyor device 8 from the ground, are installed in the second conveyor device 8. The first conveyor device 7 is held in a turnable state, while grounding the gauge wheel 17 on the field G, by keeping the height of the second conveyor device 8 from the ground to be within a prescribed range.
