HAND TOOL WITH AN EXTENDABLE PLUNGER

A hand tool (10) having an elongated plunger assembly (40) that is rotatably and movably disposed in a socket (24). The plunger assembly (40) can be rotated between a first orientation and a second orientation as well as being moved between a first, withdrawn position and a second, extended position. The plunger assembly (40) also has an upper notch (60) and a lower notch (62) on a front side (50) and at least one generally flat lateral side (54). A fixed latch member (30) extends across a portion of the socket (24) and defines a narrow passage (34) within the socket (24). The hand tool (10), preferably, includes a compression spring (64) biasing the plunger assembly (40) toward the extended position.
