<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of reducing density irregularity in a recorded image even when exposure characteristics of a plurality of laser units differ from one another. <P>SOLUTION: An assigning means calls up individual images from a memory 28 based on the color information selected by a signal selector 29 and assigns the images to recording laser channels ch of the respective corresponding recording magazines 3. A writing position moving means activates a magazine side motor driver 26 to move the recording magazines 3 in a sub-scanning direction Y so as to move the individual recording laser channels ch to the respective writing positions and to position each recording laser channel ch at a recording area of the corresponding plate 4.
