<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase transition recording type optical information recording medium having excellent rewrite durability. <P>SOLUTION: In the information recording medium provided with a recording layer provided on a substrate and made of a phase transition material, a first interface layer provided in contact with a light incident side surface of the recording layer and a second interface layer provided in contact with a surface opposite to the light incident side of the recording layer, wherein the recording layer is made of the phase transition material having a compositional ratio in a range enclosed by the following four points (A1, A2, B1, B2) shown by coordinates on a triangle composition diagram having Bi, Ge and Te as vertices and at least one layer of the first and the second interface layers contains Zr, Cr, and O.
