<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly set a reduction rate to an original even when any isolated dirty image exists in a peripheral region on an original face. <P>SOLUTION: A control part recognizes an isolated image as an invalid image in a peripheral region where a valid image region sticks out of an image formation validating region, and removes the isolated image from base data related with the setting of the valid image region.
