PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element the low-voltage driving of which is made possible by forming a charge generating layer. SOLUTION: Low-voltage driving is made possible by forming a charge generating layer 14 for generating charges using an avalanche phenomenon between a light-emitting layer 13 and a negative electrode 12 in a light-emitting element 10 having the light-emitting layer 13 comprising an inorganic light-emitting substance between a positive electrode 15 and the negative electrode 12. The charge generating layer comprises one or two or more compositions selected from a group of S, Se, Te, Si, SiC, and Ge, and is constituted of an amorphous film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
