PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter for a camera in which an arm being a component of a shutter blade is allowed to abut on cushioning members without damaging the cushioning members. SOLUTION: Out of a front blade and a rear blade, the front blade is composed of two arms 16, 17 and three blades 18 to 20 pivoted by the arms 16, 17, one end of the arm 16 and that of the arm 17 are rotatably attached to shafts 1g, 1i of a shutter base plate 1, respectively and the arm 16 is reciprocally rotated by a pin 6c of a front blade driving member 6. The arm 6 is made of synthetic resin, a thick portion 16a is formed by partially thickening the side of the arm 16, which does not pivot the blades 18 to 20. At the end of exposure operation, the end face of the thick portion 16a is abutted on cushioning members 13, 14 made of butyl rubber to stop the exposure operation. Since the thickness of the thick portion 16a is thick, the surface of the cushioning members 13, 14 are not damaged by the abutting. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
