PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus that is superior in wear resistance, cleaning property and electrical durability, even after a long-term repeated use and capable of outputting a high-quality image output having no abnormal image. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor, containing filler particles in an outermost surface layer in a uniformly dispersed state satisfying the expression: 1.0×10<SP>-3</SP>≤(df×b<SP>3</SP>)/(dm×a<SP>3</SP>)≤2.5×10<SP>-2</SP>, where a is average distance (nm) between filler particles; b is the average diameter (nm) of the filler particles; df is the density (g/cm<SP>3</SP>) of the filler particles; and dm is the average density (g/cm<SP>3</SP>) of solid components in the outermost surface layer; a toner having an average circularity in a range of 0.95-0.98; and a cleaning means, having a contact member which is brought into contact with the electrophotographic photoreceptor under a contact pressure which is in a range of 0.13-0.25 N/cm.
