PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen detector capable of maintaining excellent oxygen detecting ability for a long period of time in a form of packaging an oxygen detecting material in an encapsulating member with a through hole. SOLUTION: The oxygen detector is formed by packaging in an encapsulating member the oxygen detecting material formed by impregnating an oxygen detecting solution in an absorber and discolored reacting to oxygen concentration in an atmosphere, wherein the encapsulating member has at least one through hole communicating with the inside and outside of a package, and the water activity at 25°C of the oxygen detecting material is Aw=0.30-0.70.
