PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear oil composition expressing excellent flame retardancy and degreasing and being excellent in extreme-pressure characteristics. SOLUTION: The gear oil composition comprises a base oil comprising (A) 5-45 mass% of a polyol ester oil composed of a 4-24C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and a die- to tetra-valent polyhydric alcohol, (B) 5-38 mass% of a complex ester oil composed of a 4-24C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, a 4-12C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and tri- or tetra-valent polyhydric alcohol, (C) 30-90 mass% of mineral oil having at least 300 mm<SP>2</SP>/s of kinematic viscosity at 40°C and above 280°C of flash point, wherein (D) 0.01-5 pts.mass of one or more kinds of extreme-pressure additive selected from the group consisting of a sulfur based extreme-pressure additive, a phosphorus-based extreme-pressure additive or a phosphorus and sulfur-based extreme-pressure additive is added to the 100 pts.mass of the base oil containing 10-70 mass% of the component (A) and (B) to the sum of the component (A)-(C).
