PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix-type fentanyl cataplasm having transdermal absorption of the fentanyl stable over three days, and good adhesion to the skin, and preventing the precipitation of the crystal of the fentanyl in a paste layer and the skin injury caused at the separation of the preparation. SOLUTION: The external cataplasm obtained by forming the paste layer on one surface of a supporter, and containing the fentanyl of an active ingredient and an adhesive base in the paste layer is regulated so that the adhesive base may contain a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer and a polyisoprene as rubber components, and a terpene resin as an adhesiveness-imparting agent, and the content of the styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer is 0.2-10 times by mass as much as the content of the polyisoprene.
