PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a corrugated cardboard sheet 2A to be surely provided with an opening by way of a simple structure, the corrugated cardboard sheet having two pairs of mutually opposite wall planes with different length widths, while the respective wall planes have flaps provided on their tops and bottoms. SOLUTION: A carton former includes a magazine 4 that holds the flatly folded corrugated cardboard sheet 2A, with the flaps being directed upward and downward, a pull-out means 6 that chucks one 2aa of the wall surfaces on the front surface side of the corrugated cardboard sheet 2A positioned at the foremost part within the magazine 4 and pulls it, and opening means 8 that bends the other 2ab of the wall surfaces in a rear direction on the front surface side. Furthermore, the carton former has protrusions 44, 45, that come in contact with flaps 2bc, 2be in the rear after they have respectively passed through the spaces between the flaps connected to both the wall surfaces 2aa, 2ab (spaces between 2ac and 2ad, 2ae and 2af) of the corrugated cardboard sheet 2A in movement as is in absorption to a suction cup 50 of the pull-out means 6.
