The invention relates to a single-pole electrosurgical instrument including a cylindrical metal electrode, one end of which is connected to a pole of a radio frequency generator. The aforementioned electrode includes a supply of cooling liquid, a handle (7) which covers part of the electrode, a segment (6) covered with an insulating material and a non-insulated coagulation and cutting tip comprising a rounded end portion (2), a portion (3) that is connected to a metal cutting blade (5) close to the end and a portion (4) that is not joined to the metal cutting blade. The invention can be used for the precision cutting of coagulated tissue, using a simple instrument that prevents the risk of haemorrhage.
