Recombinant DNA fragment (I) contains the promoter (P) of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae gene YNL279W which regulates transcription of functionally linked structural genes. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) DNA vector that contains (I); (2) recombinant S. cerevisiae that contains (I); (3) method for identifying activators (A) or inhibitors (B) of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR); (4) method for producing heterologous proteins (II) in S. cerevisiae by expressing a structural gene for (II) under control of (I); and (5) method for identifying constitutively active mutants of GPCR. |
