<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring for stabilizing sealability while reducing sliding resistance. <P>SOLUTION: This seal ring is furnished with a first sealing surface 3 installed in a ring groove provided on one member of housing and a shaft and to seal a surface of the other member out of these two members and a second sealing surface 4 to seal a side wall surface on the non-sealing fluid side of the ring groove, a non-contact part 5 not to make contact with the side wall surface of the ring groove is provided along an overall periphery of a ring main body on the groove bottom side of the ring groove rather than the second sealing surface 4 on the non-sealing fluid side of the ring main body, the non-contact part 5 is constituted of a part wide in width in the diametrical direction and a part narrow in width in the diametrical direction and a sealing part to make contact with the side wall surface of the ring groove is formed on an end edge part of a borderline with the non-contact part 5 of the second sealing surface 4.
