<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional vehicle head light that luminosity near the cut-off line of a light distribution pattern cannot be raised. <P>SOLUTION: A shade 5 is provided with front-side edges 11F, 12F, and 13F as well as real side edges 11B, 12B, and 13B. The front-side upper horizontal edge 11F which is away from a second focal point F2 of a reflective surface 9 is provided with a recess 15.
