<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner density adjustment method in an image forming apparatus, which forms clear images by maintaining control performance of an image forming condition even when an image carrier such as a photoreceptor mounting a patch for adjusting toner density and an intermediate transfer body or the surface of a paper conveying belt has deteriorated temporally. <P>SOLUTION: The toner density adjustment method in the image forming apparatus includes: measuring a surface state measured without mounting the patch for adjusting the toner density on the image carrier and the paper conveying belt and, with a toner density sensor, the toner density when mounting the patch for adjusting the toner density of 100% density; and discriminating the magnitude of ¾Vp0-Vp¾ obtained from the measured value of a positive reflection type light receiving element and ¾Vs0-Vs¾ obtained from the measured result of a diffusion reflection type light receiving element when a value of the image carrier and the surface of the paper conveying belt with a positive reflection type light receiving element is Vp0, a measured value of the diffusion reflection type light receiving element is Vs0, a measured value of the positive reflection type of the measured result of the patch for adjusting the toner density of 100% density is Vp, and a measured value of the diffusion reflection type light receiving element is Vs to detect density by selecting a sensor indicating a large value so as to adjust the toner density in the toner images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
