PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a spark ignition type internal combustion engine performing HC reduction control in a predetermined low temperature starting condition and inhibiting increase of a PM emission associated with performance of the HC reduction control. SOLUTION: In the predetermined low temperature starting condition (rich atmosphere), excessively-advanced ignition control for advancing ignition timing past MBT and intake synchronous injection control targeting a total quantity of injection fuel for intake synchronous injection are performed in principle. With this, a peak of cylinder temperature is increased, a quantity of port-attached fuel is reduced and an emission of unburned HC can be reduced. In this case, when the PM emission exceeds a PM allowable amount, in place of the intake synchronous injection control, treatment is performed to target a part of injection fuel for intake asynchronous injection and to target the remaining fuel for the intake synchronous injection. With this, a quantity of cylinder-attached fuel is reduced and a partial oxidation reaction of the cylinder-attached fuel blamed as a cause of PM generation is inhibited.
