A driving apparatus for cold cathode flat fluorescent lamp is provided to perform stable lighting at the place required for high efficiency lighting by improving a power factor of rectifying power. In a cold-cathode flat fluorescent lamp, a filter unit removes the surge from the AC input power and filters the noise. A rectifier rectifies the AC power supply inputted through the filter section into the DC power. A power factor circuit(14) improves the power factor of the rectifying power outputted from the rectifier and boosts voltage the input voltage. A frequency control unit controls the oscillation frequency of the switching element equipped in the inverter unit and outputs two square wave of which phase difference is 180 degrees each other, and also includes a switching unit is switched alternately by the square wave signal generated in the frequency control unit.
