<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit reduced in in-plane luminance difference, and a display device improved in visibility. <P>SOLUTION: Serrate projecting parts 8b are formed on the side surface 8a of a light guide plate 8, and the projecting part 8b is composed of a first surface 801 and a second surface 802. The first surface 801 is permeable by light from an LED 11, and the second surface 802 is semi-permeable to the light having passed through the first surface 801. The light emitted from an emission surface 11b passes through the first surface 801 and travels to the second surface 802. In a semi-permeable film 13, light having intensity equivalent to its reflectivity is emitted toward the light guide plate 8 as reflected light. Light having intensity equivalent to the permeability of the projecting part 8b passes through the semi-permeable film 13, and is emitted toward the adjacent projecting part 8b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
