PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position attitude detection system capable of continuous measurement by utilizing the alternative magnetic field, in which frequency setting freedom is large with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The Xg-axial magnetic field generator 1 composed of Xg-axial coil power source group 1a and Xg-axial coil group 1b, generates at least one alternative magnetic field having directivity. The Yg-axial magnetic field generating part 2 composed of Yg-axial coil power source group 2a and Yg-axial coil group 2b generates at least one alternative magnetic field of different directivity from that of the Xg-axial magnetic field generating part 1, and of different frequency from that of the Xg-axial magnetic field generating part 1. The magnetic field detection part 11 includes the multi-axial magnetic sensors 10a, 10b, 10c for detecting the magnetic field generated by the Xg-axial magnetic field generating part 1 and the Yg-axial magnetic field generating part 2. The operation part 4 calculates the positional information and the attitude information of the magnetic field detection part 11 by specifying the directional relation of the Xg-axial magnetic field generation part 1, the Yg-axial magnetic field generation part 2 and the magnetic field detection part 11.
