PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wallpaper which can prevent the formation of a joint gap and enhance productivity, and its application method. SOLUTION: The two pieces of wallpaper with pasted backsides are stack-cut in the state of being stuck on a substrate in such a manner that an underlay tape is positioned on a substrate side superpose the underlay tape and a curing tape, stuck on opposed edges, on each other. In this case, the wallpaper is stuck on the substrate after curing (step S12) is applied until the elongation of 60-80% based on the maximum amount of the elongation of the wall paper by water absorption is obtained after the wall paper is pasted. This can prevent the formation of the joint gap by maintaining the allowance of expansion/contraction. In a conventional method, the wall paper is stuck on the substrate (step S34) after curing (step S32) is applied until 15-30 minutes after the wallpaper is almost completely elongated after pasting (step S30). On the other hand, in this invention, since a time until about 5-7 minutes after the wallpaper presents the elongation equivalent to the order of 60-80% of the maximum amount of the elongation is set as a curing time, the curing time can be greatly shortened for an improvement in the productivity.
