PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detoxifying apparatus of waste asbestos material by which more increase in efficiency can be attained by reduction of melting treatment time and efficiency of using heat energy can be raised. SOLUTION: The detoxifying apparatus of the waste asbestos material is provided with a feeding means which feeds the waste asbestos material, a melting furnace which melts the waste asbestos material fed by the feeding means at high temperature to give molten asbestos and an extraction part which extracts a stone-like material formed by cooling and hardening molten asbestos discharged from the melting furnace. The feeding means has a drying warehouse which houses the waste asbestos material carried-in in a wet state in order to prevent scattering and a dehydration means which dries the waste asbestos material in the drying warehouse before feed into the melting furnace by utilizing exhaust heat from the melting furnace.
