PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display high in display quality and high in productivity. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel includes: a front substrate having a plurality of sustaining electrodes and scanning electrodes forming pairs for row selection on the substrate, a dielectric layer covering the sustaining electrodes and the scanning electrodes, and a protective layer located on the dielectric layer; and a back substrate having a plurality of address electrodes for column selection on the substrate, a dielectric layer covering the address electrodes, and longitudinal barrier ribs located on the dielectric layer and nearly parallel to the address electrodes and lateral barrier ribs orthogonal to the longitudinal barrier ribs. The plasma display panel is characterized in that the longitudinal barrier rib has depression parts in an upper part of each cell and in a lower part of each cell. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
