Adaptive method for measuring and compensating optical abberations and device for practical use thereof, comprising a step of measurement of the optical abberations of a light beam (A) in a plane (2) and a step of total or partial compensation of said abberations, with a view to obtaining a light beam (B) with improved optical features, by repeating over time the measuring and compensating cycle as many times as considered necessary and with the duration of each step appropriate for the application in question, characterized in that for measuring and compensating the abberation a same adaptive module (1), for which the optical properties can be reconfigured, is used sequentially. For this purpose the adaptive module (1) contains a reconfigurable optical element, for example a liquid crystal screen, together with suitable accessory components.
