The device has gate lines (125) and data lines (139) arranged to intersect each other on a substrate. A pixel region (P) includes a reflection portion and a transmission portion. A storage capacitor (C-st) is formed between a pixel electrode (161a) and a storage electrode. Another storage capacitor is formed between another storage electrode and a connection pixel electrode (160). Capacitance of storage capacitors does not change, when the size of the reflection portion is decreased and the size of the transmission portion is increased. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a transflective liquid crystal display device.
