An adaptor is provided for connecting a light fitting, of the type comprising a terminal housing for mounting adjacent to a ceiling to house terminals connecting the light fitting to an electrical power supply, to a ceiling rose base portion, of the type comprising a substantially cylindrical outer wall, a central portion radially inside the cylindrical wall and comprising a plurality of electrical connection terminals, and an external thread provided on the cylindrical wall for engagement by an internal thread of a screw-on cover portion of the ceiling rose. The adaptor comprises a body with first attachment means adapted to engage the tread of a suitably sized ceiling rose base portion so as to attach the adaptor body to the ceiling rose base portion; and a second attachment means adapted so as to be engageable by a suitably adapted terminal housing of a light fitting to attach the terminal housing to the body such that the adaptor can support the light fitting. |
