A cosmetic composition is provided to remove effectively keratinocyte of skin by containing an extract of chestnut, to improve skin moisturization, skin tone and brightening, to increase moisture of the skin and to increase a speed of exchanging a keratin layer. A cosmetic composition contains an extract of chestnut as an active ingredient for removing chitins. The extract of the chestnut removes the horny substance by an uronic acid. The cosmetic composition is used as cosmetic water, lotion, moisturizing cream, massage cream, essence, eye cream, cleansing cream, cleansing foam, cleansing water, pack, spray or powders. The extract of the chestnut is extracted by a solvent selected from water, an anhydrous or a hydrated inferiority alcohol of a carbon number 1~4, acetone, an ethyl acetate, a chloroform and 1,3- butylene glycol.
