PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for producing a heretofore unobtainable highly filled thermoplastic composition, which method can give a resin composition capable of being subjected to melt processing and capable of giving a molding which can highly efficiently exhibit the characteristic properties of the filler used and to provide a molding obtained from the resin composition. SOLUTION: There are provided a tableted resin composition containing a thermoplastic resin and a filler and a method for producing the composition comprising compression-molding at least one member selected from among a thermoplastic resin powder, a filler, and a powder of a composition prepared by melt-blending a thermoplastic filler and a filler into tablets.
