Use of a mixture comprising a polyphenol and/or plant extract (A) that is rich in polyphenol and physiologically active fatty substance (B), for improving the bioavailability of caffeine in preparation with a content of caffeine rich plant extract. An independent claim is included for a food supplement substance comprising 20-40 wt.% of (A), (B) and caffeine rich plant extract with an amount related to 100 wt.% of the food supplement.
