摘要 <p>1290386 Actuation of switches; automatic circuit breakers; gas blast switches WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 22 Oct 1969 [18 Nov 1968] 51736/69 Heading H1N An operating mechanism for a high voltage gas blast or other switch comprises a threearmed lever 24; one arm is coupled by rod 34 to a valve (18, Fig. 12, not shown) controlling the contacts of the switch; a second arm 24b is acted upon by a fluid-pressure operated piston 37 to move the lever in a contact closing direction; and the third arm is coupled by a toggle linkage 45, 46 to a fixed point 48, the knee joint 47 of the toggle being latched to retain the lever in the contact closed position. The arm 24a is also coupled to auxiliary contacts 16. Dampers 60, 59 co-operate with arms 24b, 24c, respectively, to absorb the closing and opening forces. To close the switch an electromagneticallyoperated valve 40 admits compressed gas to the left of piston 37 which moves to the right, a piston-rod 36 striking a roller 35 on arm 24b turning the lever 24 anticlockwise about pivot 29. This straightens the toggle linkage 45, 46 allowing a latch 50 to drop into engagement with a roller 44 on the knee of the toggle. An armature 52 on the latch is held by a permanent magnet 58 (Fig. 11) so that the toggle cannot collapse. A spring 41 restores the piston 37. Upon overload or manually coils 56, 57 are energized to divert the flux of the permanent magnet from the armature 52 causing the latter to be released. The toggle collapses under spring 71 and the lever 24 turns clockwise to open the contacts. Movement of the piston-rod 36 and toggle 45, 46 actuate auxiliary switches 74, 73, respectively. The various auxiliary switches and contacts are connected in a circuit (Fig. 14, not shown) providing for rapid reclosing of the switch. The switch (Figs. 1-3, not shown) is a two-pressure SF 6 gas blast switch the SF 6 being recirculated by a pump. The mechanism can also be used with oil, gas or air break switches (not shown).</p>
