发明名称 PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HYDROGEN-CONTAINING GAS
摘要 1,271,578. Making combustible gas. PULLMAN Inc. 6 Aug., 1969 [12 Aug., 1968], No. 39473/69. Heading C5E. A hydrogen-containing gas is made from a carbonaceous material, e.g. coal, coke, peat, wood, or a liquid hydrocarbon, including coal tar or pitch, or petroleum wax, by reacting the material with steam in a zone containing an alkali metal carbonate melt which contains at least 0À4 wt. per cent sodium sulphate. The molten salt is circulated between the reaction zone supplied with feed and steam, and a combustion zone supplied with some feed and air. The preferred carbon concentration in the melt ranges from 0À002 to 0À2 lb. per lb. of melt. Maximum Na 2 SO 4 concentrations are 50 mol. per cent (on carbon) and 16 wt. per cent (on melt). The Na 2 SO 4 acts as a catalyst for the gasification and may be added to the gasification or combustion zones as such or as a metal sulphate, sulphite, sulphonate or as SO 2 for reaction with the sodium in the melt. Ash from the combustion of carbonaceous material may be the source of Na 2 SO 4 . Solid feed materials may be in lump, granular, or pulverized form.
