[Also in Division C4] Anion-modified p.a.c., polyamides and polyesters, and mixtures of these with other fiber materials, e.g. cotton, regenerated cellulose, wool, unmodified polyesters and polyamides are dyed or printed using aqueous dispersions of the salts of basic dyestuffs, preferably azo or anthraquinone, free from carboxylic and sulphonic acid groups and polynuclear aromatic sulphonic acids. Naphthalene monotetra-sulphonic acids are preferred. The dyestuff compositions used contain 100 parts by weight dyestuff salt, 2-20 parts of non-ionic dispersing agent and/or 2-20 parts of an anionic dispersing agent, and may also contain other dyestuffs, e.g. reactive and direct for dyeing unions. Fixation may be by steaming, hot air, contact heat or by the cold batch method.
