<p>Toilet detergent bar consists of (a) 10-15 wt. % of the sodium salts or blends of the sodium and magnesium salts of blends of acids derived from the oxidation of alcohols produced by the Guerbet reaction of formula (I): (where p is 4-6, n is 6-8, and n + p is an even number), the blends contg. 30-70 wt. % 12C acids 15-40 wt. % 14C acids and 15-40 wt. % 16C acids and (b) 85-90 wt. % of sodium salts or blends of the sodium and magnesium salts of 16-18C straight chain fatty acids. The compsns. form plastic cohesive masses from which bars having low slough loss, good lathering, characteristics and low wear can be produced. The bars have pleasant feel on contact with the skin, are harmless to the human body and are non-stick. The bars function equally well in hard and soft water and can be manufactured in suitable milled and plodded form.</p> |
