ELECTRODE STRUCTURE FOR DISCHARGE LAMP

An electrode structure of the discharge lamp is provided to reduce the temperature rise of electrode and increase the heat dissipation and the discharge stability. The discharge lamp(1) comprises the electrode of the columnar of the arc tube and pair it is faced in the arc tube and the inside lead bar(7) maintaining electrode within the arc tube. The main part(21) with the depth which is bigger than the hole diameter is formed in the connection unit neighboring the inside lead bar. The penetration hole is formed from the opening part of the lateral face side to the opening part of the main part. The opening part of the lateral face side is closer to the discharge part than the opening part of the main part.
