An ink-jet image forming apparatus is provided to improve the picture quality of an array ink-jet head by including a missing nozzle detector capable of detecting the abnormal nozzle by reading a test image. An ink-jet image forming apparatus comprises an ink-jet head and missing nozzle detectors(190). The ink-jet head is provided on the printing path in which image is printed on the paper and the printed paper discharged. The ink-jet head has a length corresponding to the width of paper and is equipped with a plurality of nozzles(141) for discharging the ink. The missing nozzle detector is provided on a missing nozzle detection path connected to the printing path, and scanning a test image while transferring the paper on which the test image is printed by array ink-jet head towards the printing path.
