A container has one or more mixing tools(22) moved around the container close to the base by a rotating vertical shaft. One or more blades(26) at the end of a tool carrier(16) project beyond the end of the latter towards the adjacent container sidewall(14). Each blade is angled to the horizontal plane so that plastic particles dispersed by the mixing tools are have a tendency to be lifted upwards away from the base. Preferred Features: Blades project upwards and downwards beyond the tools or tool carrier. The tool carrier is a disc(17) and mixing tools and angled blades are equally spaced around the disc edge. Blades can be offset from the mixing tools or can be located on the radially outer end of the latter.
