A roll forming apparatus is provided to control a drive of an uncoiler according to forming speed, running speed of the original material steel sheet and tension of the original material steel sheet without the relation in the thickness of the steel sheet. A roll forming apparatus comprises a tension sensor(30) is installed at an uncoiler and senses the tension of an original material steel sheet; a speed sensor is arranged between a roll former unit and a cutting unit, and senses the progress speed of a shaped beam; an ultrasonic sensor(40) is installed in uncoiler corresponding to the center of a coil (A) and senses the external diameter of coil; and a controller controlling the operation of uncoiler according to the tension sensor and the sensing signal of the ultrasonic sensor and speed sensor. The uncoiler includes an input shaft(22) an output shaft(23) are pivotally installed inside a housing(21), an input gear(24) mounted to the input shaft and a driven gear(25) mounted the output shaft are arranged and engaged in each other, a reducer(26) connected the input shaft in the outer side of the housing, a coil drum(27) installed at an end of the output shaft, the reducer connected a driving motor(29) which is installed a first brake(28a), and a second brake(28b) is installed on the coaxial of the input shaft.
